JAY AND THE AMERICANS - Friday, April 25, 2014
Though they had a bunch of hits across the 1960s, Jay & the Americans were a throwback to a previous era in their doo wop-influenced vocals, neatly groomed, short-haired appearance, and mix of pop/rock with operatic schmaltz.

In a sense, Jay & the Americans were the original "oldies" act -- organized at the transition of the 1950s into the 1960s, the group sounded like a throwback to that earlier decade, at a time when harmony vocal groups -- at least those without some guitar wattage accompanying them -- were already becoming old hat.

Yet, somehow, they competed with the likes of the Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, and the Four Seasons, among homegrown rivals, and remained a major presence on radio even during the British Invasion, and lasted long enough to meet up -- like a glider catching a brisk, sustaining wind -- with the oldies boom at the tail end of the decade.

Built around the neck-bulging upper-register vocals of David Blatt aka Jay Black, their biggest hits include "She Cried," "Cara Mia", "Come a Little Bit Closer," and "This Magic Moment" .

MICKEY GILLEY - Saturday, May 17, 2014
Mickey Gilley has accomplished what most artists only dream of — a long and fulfilling career marked by loyal fans and financial success. One of the secrets behind Mickey's longevity is his ability to balance the heart of an entertainer with the brain of a businessman. He hasn't had to "reinvent" himself to stay in the game. He has stayed current with the times, but Mickey knows what not to change. He has treated his fans with the same respect throughout the years, maintained his consistent high-quality performances, selected classic songs that withstood the fickleness of trends and tapped into business opportunities with an uncanny foresight.

In all, Mickey has achieved a remarkable 39 Top-Ten country hits, with 17 of those songs reaching the No. 1 spot on the country charts. In 1976, he swept the ACM Awards, hauling home trophies for Entertainer of the Year, Top Male Vocalist, Song of the Year, Single of the Year and Album of the Year. He was ranked among the top-fifty country music hitmakers in the 1989 book written by record research historian Joel Whitburn.

Hits include:
"Room Full of Roses:
"Don't the Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time"
"Bring It On Home To Me"
"You Don't Know Me"
"Stand By Me"
"Fool For Your Love"
and many more!

GRITS AND GLAMOUR - Saturday, June 21, 2014
Lorrie has built a reputation as an artist who knows a great song when she hears one. The proof is in her legacy of mining Nashville’s songwriting community throughout her career and finding hits. Her latest offering, I Walk Alone, is a labor of love that has been a lifetime in the making. The twelve songs she co-wrote and co-produced for I Walk Alone find Lorrie in a particularly introspective and vulnerable place in her life. Cuts including “Mirror, Mirror,” “Woman Thing,” and the title cut, offer Lorrie’s fans a rare look into the life of the woman whose life has quite literally been lived out on stage.

Recording Artist Pam Tillis has been a formidable force in country music since her first single hit the charts in 1990. She has racked up 14 Top Five hits including six that hit #1, and has sold over 6 million records. An accomplished songwriter, Pam has had her compositions recorded by artists as varied as Chaka Khan, Martina McBride, Highway 101, Juice Newton and Conway Twitty. She was one of the first women in Nashville to produce her own album, and she was awarded the coveted Female Vocalist of the Year by the CMA in 1994. In 1999 Pam showed her trademark versatility by being the first female country entertainer to ever star in a Broadway Musical when she appeared in Smokey Joe’s Café.
Pam was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2000.
